Tara Wolchuk BMR PT

Physiotherapist/Owner

  • Tara graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2006 with her Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation. Since graduation she has been working in private practice but she has a variety of work experience including in the hospital, acute and sub-acute post-ops, community care, teaching, consulting work and research. Tara loves a challenge and continued education is important to her. She has completed her level II manual therapy course, certified in acupuncture, Dry Needling, has training in Functional Movement Screens (FMS) as well as Selective Functional Movement Assessments (SFMA) and a variety of other orthopedic courses.
  • In Novmeber of 2017 and again in 2019, Tara was fortunate enough to be chosen as a volunteer physiotherapist for a medical mission called Operation Walk. Operation Walk Winnipeg, is a team of surgeons, nurses, physiotherapists and many other important team members who volunteer their time in Nicaragua to provide hip and knee replacements to people who need these surgeries but otherwise couldn't afford them. The days were long and hot in less than ideal hospital conditions but the reward of the smile on the patients faces was more than any pay check could provide. It is a goal of Tara's to be able to continue to do volunteer work like this and she hopes to go back again next year!
  • Tara's treatment style focuses on one on one patient care with edcuation and preventative strategies being a primary focus . She feels it is important to move well and works with her patients to help reduce the risk of future injury. Her goal is to provide a positive, friendly and professional experience to her patients and ensure each person is treated with respect and listened to.
  • When not at work, Tara enjoys spending time with her husband Chad, daughter’s Taylor and Tenley and two dogs- Chumley and Pita. In the summer months they can be found at the family cabin in Kenora, enjoying the great outdoors.
